Flying by the seat of their pants

Well, two wins in a row. At least I can say I was right for voting for Garcia over Feeley, when 80% of the others thought the opposite.

But no matter, the Birds will not make the playoffs if they keep playing like this.  I couldn’t imagine any team consistently giving up 100 200! yard rushing efforts week after week, leaving their defense on the field for the majority of the game, and committing senseless penalties directly resulting in opponents’ points.

They won despite themselves today, and I see them losing 2 out of the last 3, for an appropriately mediocre 8-8 final record.

James Kim found dead

A San Francisco man who got stranded in the snowy wilderness with his family nearly two weeks ago was found dead Wednesday in a mountain creek.  Here’s the full story.

Judging from my previous posts, you may have gathered that I don’t believe in heaven, but on the chance it does exist, this guy deserves to have his ticket punched.

Holiday Music

There’s a new Holiday song to listen to while browsing Sean-O.com… This week, it’s Holly Jolly Christmas from the peerless Bur| Ives.  (see it there?  yeah, over there.  the green bar)  Each week before the big day I’ll put up a new tune from Sean O’s Ultimate Christmas CD — a collection of only the 28 best Christmas songs.  Mostly classics, the best of the new stuff, with a pinch of humor thrown in.

The Allofmp3.com cheap music ride is coming to an end.  More successful bullying by our fine government.

The U.S. (likely influenced by the RIAA) has made an agreement with Russia to shut down the Russian-based just-over-a-buck-an-album web site.

The compliance date is June 1, 2007.  My advice is to login and start building your catalogue in the next few months as it may go black sooner than this.
