OMG That’s My Cat

This is innovation week, it seems.

Google has just updated their game-changing Google Maps to include Street-Level views.  What does this mean?  Well, thanks to their cavalcade of vans driving around major metros (only NYC, SF, and a few others for now) equipped with cameras, you can see pretty much see what you would driving around town… you really have to see it for yourself.

One gentleman in San Fran did.  And he saw his kitty in the window!

Here are the steps we got to carry Lindsay’s stroller up to get to Coit Tower during our SF visit over Christmas.

And here’s The Tech museum in San Jose, where I first got to ride a Segway.

On The Surface

Microsoft Surface, that is.

Pretty cool stuff, as you’ll see from this video (the best demo I’ve found).  However, don’t expect this to be available for your coffee table until the turn of the decade.  Plenty of time to decide how to beat your children for spilling soda on your new $10,000 computer.

Dads & Grads

When you’re shopping for "dads & grads" this year (yecch I hate that phrase), don’t forget about the world’s largest store: Amazon.com.

And while you’re busy not forgetting that, add to the list of unforgettables the fact that you can search for anything on Amazon right here on Sean-O.com (right there… over on the right → … right!). And when you do, you’re helping contribute to Lindsay’s college fund (and it costs you nothing).

She certainly won’t forget you for it!  🙂

Two Games… At Once

Hope you’re all having some Memorial Day fun…

And in the spirit of fun, and the red white & blue (well, red anyway), here’s Red Team.  The premise of the game is exceedingly simple.  Fly your jetpack man over and under obstacles.  There are only three positions — up, middle, and down.  Sounds easy, right?

Well, um, yeah.  But you have to do it with two different guys. Simultaneously!

It’s like two, two games in one.  Good luck.

Finally, a Station That Doesn’t Suck

After years and years of awful Philly radio — with the death knell having sounded the day Howard Stern left the "terrestrial" airwaves — I’m proud to announce that…

The Rock is Back.

Radio 104.5 has gone live just this week… and I haven’t listened to this much radio in… about thirteen years.  They only play modern / popular / alternative rock.  Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Bush, Chili Peppers, Cake, et al.  Pretty much any good rock song from the last 20 years or so.  A lot of great surprises that make you say, "Jeebus, when was the last time I heard that?"

And since they’re new, they have no DJs (but are auditioning – I was thinking of submitting a demo :), and very few commercials (but few longer than 1 minute).  Dunno how long that will last, but it’s fun to enjoy it now.

Don’t live in the Philadelphia area?  No sweat, they stream 24/7 on the internet.  Listen from anywhere:

Also, if ya didn’t know, this is called The Show

FINALLY.  After an entire season of mediocrity, one performance that was actually… gasp…
Entertaining!

I actually woke up when I heard the name "Doug E. Fresh", and when I heard the opening synth to The Show, I sat straight up in anticipation.  And I was not disappointed.  I literally had my hands in the air, and was waving them as if I just didn’t care.  Blake took his beatboxing to a whole ‘nother level (what was he saving for?).

Sean once said…
I wouldn’t be surprised, though, if Blake takes it all.  Has the looks, the confidence, the range (?).  Beatboxing under showers of confetti would be a pretty hilarious sight.

Well, he didn’t make it to the confetti, but hey I was close 🙂

So, sit back and enjoy the finest 3 1/2 minutes of American Idol, Season 6…
Oh, Oh, Oh… Oh My GOD!
