Come On People

Bill Cosby has just co-authored a new book entitled Come On People, focusing on the problems faced by Black America over the last 50 years.  At the crux of the problem: the lack of solid foundations, nurturing home environments where children can be loved, supervised, and taught the value of an education.  (He is, in essence, fighting for black men to "Read A Book")  Cosby appeared on Meet The Press this morning with Dr. Alvin Poussaint from the Harvard Medical School, and it was an engaging hour I encourage you to watch.

What Would The Librarian Do?

Who says being a librarian can’t be fun?

In I’ll Get It!, today’s Friday Flash Fun, you can experience the thrill of helping people find the answers to obscure questions.  Will they prefer information in a book?  online?  The drama awaits!  And don’t keep the patrons waiting, either.  They’re not afraid to groan and get all sad-smiley’d over poor service.

Big Brother’s Watching You… Work On Your Car

You may remember when I blogged about Google Maps’ StreetView a few months back.  Well, they’ve recently added more cities, and Philadelphia is among them.  Coverage is spotty, as large chunks of the (geographical) center of the city are missing, but huge parts of the Northeast and Chester County are featured.

And hey, my family’s been immortalized as representatives of beautiful Port Richmond!  Check out my Uncle and Cousin working on their truck!  That Excursion is so G.D. big, you need a ladder to work on the engine!

Also, here’s the house I shared with a few roommates in my swingin’ single days in NE Philly.
